Haftorah Unrolled started as a weekly class that I gave at the home of my parents, Peter and Nella Rozenberg z”l, soon after they retired and made Aliyah. It was attended with great dedication, every week, by a group of people their age, folks who had been going to shul their entire lives, and welcomed the opportunity to understand better what they’ve been reading. It was the knowledge that they would be expecting a well-developed set of source sheets every Tuesday night that kept me poring over the Mefarshim and translating haftorahs and Midrashim all weekend. Without them, none of this would have happened.
After my father passed away in 2013, I started publishing the classes as a blog, and sharing it via email with good friends, in his memory. After my mother passed away in 2016, I was able to turn the raw material into a physical book, published in 2018, with a second printing (including some corrections) in 2026.
This work is in their memory – פנחס בן נתן נטע וחנה בת זעליג ז”ל
